Hinglish transcription for meetings that mix Hindi and English

How it works

Here is what happens to a Hinglish meeting, from the recording to the note.

1. Open Settings, then Transcription, and choose Hinglish. A new account starts in English, so this is the one change to make.
2. Record the way you like: the meeting bot, the Mac app, the Chrome extension or the browser.
3. When the recording is uploaded, Lynkk sends it to its transcription provider with Hinglish and speaker labels turned on.
4. The transcript comes back split by speaker, and Lynkk writes the summary, action items and decisions from it.
5. The finished note is searchable by meaning or exact words.

Hinglish vs Hindi vs English mode

Each language setting tells the transcription engine what to listen for. Pick the one that matches how your meetings sound. You can change it in Settings, under Transcription, at any time.

• English: the setting a new account starts with. Best when every call is in English, whatever the accent.
• Hindi: for calls held in Hindi from start to finish.
• Hinglish: for calls where people mix Hindi and English inside the same sentence, like the example above. A sentence that switches halfway stays one sentence.
• Auto-detect: works out the main language of each recording. Good when each call is in one language, but not always the same one.

Speaker labels in a mixed room

Speaker labels work in Hinglish as they do in every other language, so action items and decisions are attributed to the right person. What to expect, and the limits
