Fillers, stutters and false starts go, grammar and punctuation are fixed, and emails and links are written the way you would type them. It fixes how it reads and keeps your words.
While you are dictating, draw a circle around anything on screen with the mouse. Lynkk anchors the picture to the word you were saying and pastes it in after the sentence.
Put your cursor where the words should go and hold the key. Lynkk types them in, never leaves them on your clipboard, and checks every insert after it lands. The app decides the mode, so you never pick one, and everything else gets the default.

The text lands where your cursor was. Say “new paragraph” to keep going, “scratch that” to drop the last bit, or “send” to press Return.

What is Lynkk?
Lynkk is an AI dictation app for Mac. Hold fn, or another key you pick, speak naturally and let go. Your words are typed into the field your cursor is in. On Pro they are also cleaned up, so they read the way you would have written them.
Does Lynkk work in every app?
It types into the field your cursor is in, in any app: Slack, Mail, Notion, Chrome, Safari, Messages, WhatsApp, VS Code, Cursor, Xcode and your terminal among them. The words are typed, never left on your clipboard, and every insert is checked after it lands. If a field will not take them, the island says so and offers a Copy button. Chat apps get Chat mode, Mail gets Email mode, Notion and Obsidian get Notes mode, and terminals and code editors get Code mode, automatically.
How do I start dictating?
Put your cursor in a text field, hold fn and talk. Let go and the words are typed. Press Esc while holding to cancel. Turn on hands-free in Settings and a double press keeps Lynkk listening until you pause. Voice commands work when they are the whole thing you say: “new paragraph”, “new line”, “scratch that”, “undo that” and “send”, which presses Return. With Polished, “shorter” and “make that a list” work too.
Can AI correct what I dictate?
Yes, on Pro. Choose Polished and the ums, stutters, repeats and false starts go, and grammar and punctuation are fixed, while your wording stays. Choose Accurate for the cloud transcript exactly as you said it. After a polish, “Use my words” on the island puts back what you said, and Undo takes the whole insert out. The free plan types what your Mac heard, with capitals, punctuation, links and emails done for you.
What is circle capture?
It is part of dictation. While you are talking, draw a circle around anything on screen with the mouse. Lynkk grabs that region as a picture, ties it to the word you were saying and pastes it into the app you are typing in. Pictures stay on your Mac and are deleted after 7 days. Lynkk asks for Screen Recording permission the first time you circle something. It is not a separate screenshot tool.
Is my voice data private?
On the free plan, and on Instant, nothing leaves your Mac while you dictate: no audio and no words. On Pro with Accurate or Polished, the audio streams to the transcription service while you hold the key and is never written to disk, and the words go to Lynkk to be cleaned up, with a little text from around your cursor so names come out right. Lynkk never listens in a password field, never reads secure fields or card numbers, and never takes a screenshot except the one you circle.
Which languages are supported?
On Pro, 18: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Turkish, Hindi, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese and Chinese. There is nothing to pick: Lynkk works out the language on every dictation. Hindi and Hinglish come back in English letters, or in Hindi letters if you prefer. The free plan dictates in English.
Will it spell names and product terms right?
On Pro, add names and terms once, with how they tend to get misheard, and they go to the recognizer so it hears them right the first time. Lynkk also learns spellings from what you fix after a dictation. What it learns stays on your Mac.
What do I need, and is it free?
A Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 14.2 or later. The free plan dictates in English entirely on your Mac, on every supported macOS, with the voice commands, the app modes and circle capture. Pro adds the cloud pass (Accurate and Polished), the 18 languages and Hinglish, your own dictionary, your dictation stats and history synced to your account.
