Quick answer: Otter has four plans. Basic is free with 300 transcription minutes a month and a 30-minute ceiling per conversation. Pro costs $8.33 per user per month on annual billing or $16.99 monthly. Business costs $19.99 annually or $30 monthly and removes the minute cap. Enterprise is quote-only, and SSO requires a minimum 100-user license.
Disclosure: Lynkk publishes this guide and makes a competing AI meeting assistant.
Otter AI pricing looks simple until you notice that two different numbers are advertised for the same plan, and that the limit most likely to stop you is the cap on a single conversation, ahead of the monthly minute allowance.
Otter costs $0, $16.99 or $30 per user per month depending on the plan, and annual billing cuts those paid prices to $8.33 and $19.99. That is a 51% reduction on Pro and 33% on Business, so the billing cycle changes the bill more than the plan choice does for many teams.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | Free |
| Pro | $16.99 per user | $8.33 per user |
| Business | $30 per user | $19.99 per user |
| Enterprise | Quote | Quote |
And the limits attached to each:
| Plan | Transcription minutes | Max per conversation |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | 300 a month per user | 30 minutes |
| Pro | 1,200 a month per user | 90 minutes |
| Business | Unlimited | 4 hours |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | 4 hours |
Otter AI pricing leads with the $8.33 figure. Budget from it and then pick monthly billing and you pay 104% more than planned.
Yes. Basic is free with no time limit, and it includes 300 transcription minutes a month, live transcription, speaker identification, automated summaries with action items, and the bot that joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet.
The limits are where it stops being a working plan:
Basic answers one question well: is the transcription accurate enough for your accents and your product names? It will not carry a working week.
Otter Pro costs $8.33 per user per month on annual billing and $16.99 on monthly billing, and it raises the monthly allowance to 1,200 minutes with a 90-minute ceiling per conversation. That is 20 hours of meetings a month, roughly an hour a day.
What Pro adds over Basic:
The minute pool is shared across live recordings and imported files, so uploading an old recording draws down the same 1,200 minutes as a live call. Pro also caps the workspace at 5 billed users.
Otter Business costs $19.99 per user per month on annual billing and $30 monthly, and it is the tier where the transcription minute cap disappears entirely. The per-conversation ceiling rises to 4 hours and the workspace caps at 25 billed users.
Business adds:
The step from Pro to Business is $11.66 per user per month on annual billing, which is $1,399 a year for a team of 10.
Per user per year, Otter costs $99.96 on Pro annual, $203.88 on Pro monthly, $239.88 on Business annual and $360 on Business monthly. For a team of ten that is a spread of roughly $2,600 between the cheapest and most expensive way to buy the same software.
| Plan | Per user per year | 10 users per year |
|---|---|---|
| Pro, annual | $99.96 | $999.60 |
| Pro, monthly | $203.88 | $2,038.80 |
| Business, annual | $239.88 | $2,398.80 |
| Business, monthly | $360 | $3,600 |
Pro's real purchase is length and permanence: 90-minute conversations instead of 30, unlimited history instead of the 25 most recent notes, and 10 monthly file imports instead of 3 for the life of the account. The AI Chat allowance also rises from 20 questions to 50.
If your meetings are consistently under 30 minutes and you never revisit a note older than a few weeks, Basic covers it. The moment a call runs long, Basic loses the second half.
Pro is worth $8.33 a month for an individual whose meetings stay under 90 minutes and who runs fewer than 20 hours of calls a month. Above either of those thresholds the economics break, because the next upgrade is $11.66 more per user and removes both ceilings at once.
Two situations where Pro is the wrong buy, covered further in our Otter AI alternatives roundup:
Across the Otter AI plans, Enterprise is quote-only. It adds SSO, SCIM provisioning, domain capture and custom data retention. It also adds the Otter API and webhooks, video replay for Zoom and Google Meet, the Otter Sales Notetaker, custom CRM and dialer integrations, and HIPAA compliance as a paid add-on.
One number decides this tier for mid-sized companies: SSO and SCIM require a minimum 100-user license. A 40-person company whose security team mandates SSO is being asked to buy 100 seats.
Yes. Students and teachers with a .edu email address get 20% off Pro, which is $6.67 a month billed annually at $79.99, or $13.59 on monthly billing. The discount applies to individual accounts and is claimed from the Upgrade plan page after signing up with the .edu address.
Five places Otter AI pricing outruns the headline:
Lynkk's free plan is $0 with no card: unlimited notes of up to 2 hours each, and the first 5 hours of AI summaries in total, not per month. After that, notes still record and transcribe, without summaries. The meeting bot for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams is free on every plan, the Mac app also records in-person meetings and WhatsApp, FaceTime and Webex calls, and the Chrome extension captures calls without a bot. Within those 5 hours, and on Pro, each call gets a summary, action items with an owner and due date, and a recap email. Lynkk Pro is $15 per person a month, or $9.75 a month billed yearly ($117 a year), and adds unlimited summaries and Ask Lynkk, which answers questions across all your notes with numbered sources. Spotter, in development in the Mac app, helps during a call from your screen and the conversation, with early access on Pro by request. Enterprise is a custom price for up to 10 people on one bill, sold through a demo.
Two differences decide the comparison. Otter meters transcription minutes and caps a single conversation at 30 minutes on Basic and 90 on Pro. Lynkk does not meter minutes, and every note can run up to 2 hours on any plan, where Otter Business allows 4. And Otter syncs with Salesforce and HubSpot (1 user on Pro, 5 on Business), while Lynkk does not sync with a CRM today: action items go to Jira, answers go to Slack, and you can copy any summary into your CRM. The full feature-by-feature breakdown is on the Lynkk vs Otter comparison.
